Health Minister John Day has officially opened the $8.1 million Exmouth Health’s Service’s refurbished facilities. Speaking to reporters, Day spoke about the importance and benefits it will have for the Exmouth community as the facility brings together child health, community mental health and social work services all together in the one place for the first time.
Made possible by the funding granted to it via the Gascoyne Revitalisation Plan, the new facility was designed to provide high quality, contemporary health services to Exmouth and surrounding areas.
Terry Redman, Minister for Regional Development spoke of his pleasure that the Revitalisation Plan noting that the "Royalties for Regions has invested $150 million over six years to revitalise the region through the Gascoyne Revitalisation Plan."
The Revitalisation Plan is aiming to make a significant contribution to the improvement and efficiency of health services in the community
John Day echoed Redman’s praise, telling reporters that the recent investment in health infrastructure was “vital to the region”, and that the state Government was committed to fulfilling their election commitments to health care.
Built to meet future standards, the Exmouth Health Service facility includes new medical imaging equipment, consulting rooms, telehealth facilities and medical imaging equipment.
